This Is Me
Thank you for taking the time to engage here on my website.
My name is Merisaa Heqama and I am passionate about my own spiritual growth as well as helping others on their own spiritual path.
My life's work has been my search to better know myself through exploration of my history, heritage and returning to the origin of it all. But I was seeking that origin through those externals when really I am the origin, the source, the soul.
I guide people of all walks of life to find healing through becoming Self aware. My offering in yoga, breath work, and movement, enable a deeper connection to who you truly are. With self-awareness comes self-mastery.

I offer One-to-One yoga instruction with clients, ensuring your individual goals are met. We start with the body. You may want to improve physical elements within your practise, such as strength or balance. Or you may want to connect culturally and understand the meaning behind postures, improve the use of the breath in your practise – or a combination of all of the above. Click here to find out more and talk through your needs. And here to see what clients say.
I have practiced yoga for 23 years, and my particular strengths are connecting clients to how yoga can serve you both on and off the mat. In my 1-1 yoga-led experience I include an option of talking through life issues to act as a guide to bring light and help transmute challenges.
I also run a 10-week practical-rich course The Healing Culture of Yoga, tracking the origin and history of yoga and how it can be experienced off the mat and brought into your own life each day.

For two years (2014-2016) in London I sat at the feet of a Gourma traditional Priest whose bloodline is traced to Kemet (Ancient Egypt/the Nile Valley region) and learned cultural and spiritual teachings that date back to over 150,000 years. Herbs and healing, culture and humankind's original language (Medu/Heiroglyphs), meditation and the philosophy of yoga were opened to me. This experience has transformed me and the way I live. It has equipped me to return home to live in the Motherland (Tanzania).
My training in Kemetic (Smai Taui) yoga (the original form of yoga devised by the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt), my initiation into the philosophy, culture and spirituality of Kemet, have all gone into informing my own practise and how I am in-service in all areas of my life.
