Freeze frame

Do you ever get the feeling to freeze an image that is so breathtakingly beautiful that you want to stay in that moment for a long while?

I experience this frequently: especially in nature. Nature captivates me often and I want to lose myself in it. Stand and seep in the magic, the simplicity, the peace that washes over me.

I want all that to be my every second, every minute, every hour, every day.

A bird chirping, a butterfly playing, the colour of leaves lying on the earth, leaves swaying on their branches – these all bring me astounding joy and can stop me in my tracks.

Likewise, a choice moment in our lives when we are able to throw our heads back and laugh, these are the times we want to keep and to feel that we can stay in. Maybe it was when you were a child, or the moment you brought your first child into the world, we want to savour these joyful feelings.

But we cannot freeze time. Time offers us so much and so little. It whisks us away from the moments we love and brings us to spaces of challenge.

Nothing is permanent. Time is the only thing we don’t have.
