Honouring Yourself

I am sitting in a moment – an extended moment – where I am realising I have on many occasions tried to avoid taking responsibility for myself. How so?

Oftentimes I attempt to place the load on others.

This may look like expecting others to sort out a problem that may also involve me, or asking others for solutions before doing my own research or ahead of listening to my intuition.

For me I recognise I am tapping into my fear of aloneness and isolation and as a result I am giving my power away.

I can blame my actions on being the youngest child where I was absolved of many responsibilities that might have ultimately helped me to grow – and this probably has a major factor in it – but I still have to face me and find a way to change.

I am beginning to fully wake up to all of this and I am now willing to do something about it.

When you really truly honour yourself, there is a feeling of peace, surrender, wholeness.

Honour you: listen to your internal guide; recognise the difference between the internal critic and your spirit, the voice of your heart, your knowing coaxing you in the right direction.

Consistently, your internal guide is your first thought that springs up and there may be an instant feeling of knowing, realisation, chime, alignment, lightness, release.

Gift yourself this.

Don’t question it.

Say thank you for the guidance wherever it came hence. Whether it derived from the Ancestors, God, the Universe – just show gratitude – and immediately act on it.

You may simply write down an action point or list the steps of how to get to where it is you want to be or better still – take the first step: some action is required.

And promise yourself to follow through.

You are responsible for you.

No one else can truly account for your actions.

Take responsibility for yourself.

Honour yourself.

What have you recognised within yourself lately and are working towards change and ultimately growth?

I would love to hear from you.
